Book of Walks: Warsaw in Chopin's Footsteps

Yes, this Book of Walks is worth mentioning :)

Book of Walks: Warsaw in Chopin's Footsteps
We are proud Chopin lived in Warsaw. In many corners of this city you can find some remarks of him. If you don't know where exactly, with this book you will find all of them!

Bilingual book, in 4 walks, will help you (whoever you are) visit Warsaw in an interesting way (mainly area of old town and my favorite street: Krakowskie Przedmieście).

Below some of the insides:
History of Chopin's close family (his father was Frenchman from Lorraine, mother was Pole)
Walk no 1. "The young Fryderyk used to ride along the tree-lined Aleje Ujazdowskie all the way to Belweder, but he would also come here for walks in the new Botanical Garden." - you can see how those places look like now.
"In the center of Warsaw he led his everyday life. Here lived his friends and here he was received in the salons of aristocrats" - few more addresses to discover in Walk no 3
In 1927 the first International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition was held in the Philharmonic Hall in Warsaw.
Definitely will mention about Chopin more here, on my blog!
I had fun walking those roads, this is why I recommend it to you :)

"WarszaWArsaw" part 1 READ with The Warsawer

It is Thursday evening and I'm posting my first "READ with The Warsawer" post!
I'm glad I can start with this book about Warsaw, because I can recommend it to you with all my heart!
"WarszaWArsaw" - is a subjective guidebook / photo album created by:
- journalist (Agnieszka Kowalska)
- photographers (Aga Bilska and Filip Marek Klimaszewski) and
- the Autor Rooms owners

This is a VERY GOOD (in my opinion:)) piece of a guidebook about Warsaw. Very fresh as well - from 2016. Contains only contemporary topics. No boring history (although I like history ;)
Also important: was written by and from the perspective of people living, working and creating in Warsaw.

Original places to stay.
"Wedel" the chocolate company - worth visiting.
MilkBars - famous in Warsaw.
Design - original places to buy things.
Other recommendations of places to visit. Museums and not so typical for tourists places.
All places mentioned are marked on a map inside.
Plus, 3-question interviews with people creating Warsaw (entrepreneurs, artists etc.) were interesting as well. Showed me that there is no such thing as one Warsaw. This city is very different to different people.

P.S. In my opinion can be a great gift for foreigners and polish people (like myself) as well as is written in English and Polish.

Jest czwartek wieczór, a ja publikuję mój pierwszy post z cyklu "READ with The Warsawer".
Cieszę się, że mogę zacząć od tej książki o Warszawie.

"WarszaWArsaw" - to subiektywny przewodnik / album stworzony przez:
- dziennikarkę (Agnieszka Kowalska)
- fotografów (Aga Bilska and Filip Marek Klimaszewski) oraz
- the Autor Rooms właścicieli

Zachęcam do przeczytania!

Read with The Warsawer

New weekly element on the blog and on the fanpage!
Every Thursday evening.

Reading is important :)

The idea is that each week I will recommend you a book, an album with photos or an article about Warsaw. Will definitely try to find bilingual (EN+PL) ones.
All of them will be from my privet library (I'm currently creating one dedicated to Warsaw) and will be read by me first.
Wish me luck ! I hope you will enjoy it!

PL:
Nowy, stały element na blogu i fanpage-u: Read with The Warsawer.
Co czwartek będę polecała Wam jedną książkę, album ze zdjęciami lub artykuł, o Warszawie oczywiście :)
Postaram się, aby były to pozycje dwujęzyczne - po polsku i angielsku. Każda, z mojej prywatnej biblioteczki (którą właśnie tworzę) i każda przeczytana przeze mnie :)
Życzcie mi wytrwałości, a ja zachęcam Was do czytania!
